Postcard from Edinburgh

We reached out to our green-fingered friends at Haarkon to learn a little about how to marry travel with nature (They do it well, have a skim here), and then we asked them to send us a postcard from one of their favourite places. They took us on a visual tour of Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Garden, comprising 28 glasshouses. We’re shelving our to-do’s for the day to bask under this virtual canopy of greens. „The first thing on our list when visiting Edinburgh are the glasshouses in the Royal Botanic Garden. There are 28 glasshouses in total and they’re nothing short of incredible. Give yourself a couple of hours at the least to take it all in - and if you’ve already visited then definitely return, it’s great to see the changes. „
For lunch we LOVE Civerino’s - Italian street food (‘cicchetti’ is Italian for snacks and we can’t get enough of them) pizza by the slice and a really relaxed atmosphere.

Go for a coffee at Brew Lab. They also have a really good selection of soft drinks which keep India entertained as she doesn’t drink coffee!

Wander the galleries at the Scottish National Gallery and spend a good 20 minutes stood in awe at the detail in Jan Van Huysum’s ‘Flower Still Life with Bird’s Nest’.

Wind down with a drink at the Lucky Liquor on Queen Street. We love a stirred-down grown-up cocktail and these guys are great at those.

OX184 serve great drinks and comforting food in a bustling environment. They have a really good whisky menu too which is obviously a really good thing about visiting Scotland!
