From Day to Night
Our collections are created to be mixed and matched, with other Nicobar pieces, as well as favourite items that are likely already in your closet. So one fine Wednesday morning we decided to put our own philosophy to the test. The question we posed: could we create ensembles that transitioned effortlessly from day to night?
We chose a wash of cream, with hints of gold, and a liberal sprinkling of accessories, for each of these looks. Our Head of Clothing Aparna Chandra styled each ensemble, and our models are all Nicobar staff members: Sanya and Alysha from our content team, and Jhunjhun from our marketing team. #1: Chanderi on chanderi
Chanderi is one of Nicobar’s signature, and most lovely, fabrics, and this delicate, feminine top highlights everything we love about it. The fabric is light and gauzy, and Sanya wore this with simple white cotton trousers and metallic sandals for the day. At night, the trousers are switched out for our full chanderi midi skirt in dull gold, perfect for floating through parties or twirling through cocktail hour. #2: The Sari
Jhunjhun’s ensemble is ideal for the festive season, when we’re usually rushing from work to one event and then onto another, with little to no time for complicated outfit changes. We put Jhunjhun in a sari from our upcoming Fireflies collection, and she paired it with a simple ivory camisole for a super-elegant day look, and then swapped that out for an embroidered chanderi jacket for the evening. Hair up, heels on, good to go. #3: The Shirt Dress
Alysha wore a full-length shirtdress from our Sitara collection, paired with white sneakers for the day, and statement jewellery for the evening. The colour palette of this dress-white with delicate gold stripes-works perfectly for both day and night so all we did was change accessories and hair, for the most effortless transition of the lot. For all your festive pit-stops, we've got you covered with our collections, Sitara and Fireflies. Let us know how it goes!
